The Medical Services Coordinator will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with external medical providers and will serve as the point of contact for all on-campus medical appointments performed by external providers. This position also oversees the completion of off-ground medical paperwork and documentation required for external medical appointments.

Remarkable way you will make a difference...

• Coordinates medical needs with the nursing department and medical providers, including immunization needs, appointment updates, and prior authorization status.
• Completes EMAR system training for both residential and non-residential Damar programs (CLASS, DCS, group homes, IGH, etc.)
• Manages all employee functions including recruitment, on the job training, coaching and mentoring, performance appraisals, and performance management functions of the Health Specialist team.
• Complete medical prior authorizations.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate medical supplies for campus health services.
• Ensures client medication administration daily in line with Core A/B certification.
• Coordinates with treatment team to complete accurate Off Grounds Paperwork.
• Ensure medication room and cart are organized to meet best practice health standards.
• Assists campus physician with referrals and appointment scheduling.
• Tracks and schedules appointments with external providers including psych, dental, vision, lab, and imaging.

What you need to be considered...

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with clients with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Medical office experience preferred.
• Minimum age of 21 depending on program and / or department requirements.
• Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
